Wait... What? Huh? I'm sure you're reading this title and shaking your head, thinking that I have the title all wrong. I assure you it's not. Keep reading.

We know what reports and other articles say about a toxic work environment. Employees can become burned out, which can consequently affect the individual's physical and mental health, negative interactions can arise, sleeping habits are impacted, etc. These are all true, but here are some positives once you begin to acknowledge that the environment is toxic:

It makes you realize you don't have to stay there and changing the environment is now a reality.

You are now aware of the skills and experiences you have acquired. This is a new opportunity to leverage them for when interviewing for your new role.

You have embraced that you deserve better and know your options are limitless.

Simply put, you have realized your worth. Remember, where you are right now is only part of your career journey, not the destination. You are unique with the skills and talents that you have and a new environment, position, organization, department is waiting for you.

Be thankful you have a new outlook and have embraced that it's time to move on.

Will you make this work environment a destination or a rest stop in your career journey?
