How are you? This past weekend in October we celebrated World Mental Health Day and I wanted to check-in with you. The past few weeks here in America have been for mentally exhausting for me. Between our upcoming election, to the passing last month of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, adjusting to remote learning with my little one and grappling with the reality the global pandemic is staying around a lot longer than I thought; it has all taken a toll mentally. How about you? If you are a leader, you may be facing with the possibility of your organization re-opening and you have to think about how employees have to return safely or should this even be the right time with cases of Covid-19 constantly fluctuating? Or you may have been working at a site since the pandemic really started to get out of control and have to figure out the logistics of employees working a schedule that is socially distant or a hybrid schedule. With all the external factors happening, I ask that you take a deep breath and take a pause. Do your best to get out of auto pilot mode and slow down and breathe. Do something for yourself. It can be as simple as taking a longer shower than usual, sitting outside and getting some fresh air, watching a movie or taking a nap (naps are underrated and awesome.) Be intentional about what you want to do when you take a pause. Give your mind and body a rest. To be truthful, I have to remind myself to do this because at times my mind is swirling with my mental to do list and wants to rush into moving onto to the next activity. But my body let's me know when it's time to pause and take care of Kersha. Not family, not business, just Kersha. So my question to you is how do you plan to take your intentional pause? Write down the activity and give it a date. I would love to hear what you did to take a pause. You deserve it. Blessings, positivity and light,
